Impact of Drug Consumption During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is something that every couple has been expected, but sometimes somehow the mom-to-be is no always healthy. Sometimes mom-to-be must consume some kinds of drugs.

In an article, as I quoted from yahoo news, a research study which was made by Dr. Anick Berard (the University of Montreal in Quebec) showed that many pregnant women still get medications long known to cause birth defects. Some medications with known fetal risk, such as drugs that control epilepsy, are essential during pregnancy

Women should understand the side effects of any drug they are taking — especially drugs treating a chronic condition — and plan pregnancies to avoid or minimize risks such drugs pose to babies, Berard added. A total of 6.3 percent (6,871 women) did so for at least one medication known to pose a risk to the fetus. Specially, terminations occurred in 47 percent of the pregnancies exposed to drugs with known fetal risks. Six percent of these pregnancies ended in miscarriage.

Berard’s team further identified birth defects in 8.2 percent of 2,842 infants exposed to risky drugs during gestation and available for assessment, compared with 7.1 percent of the 59,287 infants not exposed. The investigators call on doctors caring for women of childbearing age to conduct a thorough medication review prior to a planned pregnancy, or as soon as an unplanned pregnancy is recognized.

Antibacterial Enzyme in Honey

The antibacterial system in honey is caused by the substance (enzyme lysozyme) and the characteristic it has, they are :

1. Honey has the osmotic effect

The high glucose level (+/- 80%) and low water level (+/- 17%)  in honey has caused honey to have an osmotic effect. This effect can make microorganism in body hard to grow and develop.

2. Honey has the Hydrogen Peroxide effect

The glucose and water in honey, and added by free oxygen in it will result to a glucose acid and hydrogen peroxide. These two products will be a great combination to eliminate microorganism that is getting into our body.

3. High Acid Level

Honey has a high acid level. The pH of honey is around 3,2 – 4,5. This high acidity level in honey is able to kill the microorganism which can not stand against acid like Tuberculosis. Honey will turn base in mouth cavity, so it will be good to be used in mouth inflammation.

Red lipstick is IN !!! And though a lot of women love – or would love to – wearing red lipstick, but not each of them dare to wear red lipstick.

Some of them feel not so confident because of the thick lips they have. Most women are afraid wearing red lipstick will make them look worse instead of pretty.

But in case you want to wear red lipstick, here is some tips that I collect from some articles :

  • first apply sheer foundation on the lips surface, then put on natural color lipstick on our lips
  • take red-colored lip liner, then rub it gently in the center part of our lips, make it as natural as possible
  • according to make up expertise, placing red color in the centre part of the lips will avoid the ‘heavy’ look of our make up.

Hope this small tips will be useful.
